Most video editing programs offer a wide range of options for manipulating videos. But sometimes you just want to trim a video or put individual sections together. This is where VidCutter comes in.
The program has been reduced to the bare essentials in order to offer you exactly what you need for cutting. So you no longer have to familiarize yourself with complicated video editing programs just to build a small clip.
Simply drag the video you want to edit into the VidCutter window. You can now determine the start and end point of each frame. You can repeat this as often as you like and create many individual clips.
If you are satisfied with your clips, you can save your project. The individual clips can be combined into one video file. This free software reads common video formats: MP4, AVI, MOV, Flash (FLV), WMV, MKV, MPEG, XVID, VOB, DVDs. It supports frame-accurate editing using a mouse or keyboard. You can play the video in a preview window, whereby a thumbnail preview enables quick navigation. Just use the "Start Clip" and "End Clip" buttons to define the start and end points of a video section in the timeline.
With "VidCutter" you can mark different parts of a video in the same way and add them to the "Clip Index" list. You can change the order of the individual parts of the new video using drag & drop functionality. You can also delete individual sections here if you wish. VidCutter also allows you to upload external footage - provided that it has the same codec or the same video size. Then you can save the final new video in the original format. Using the same principle, you can also cut audio files (MP3, WMA, WAV).
Use the "i" button to show the information about the video file you just loaded. You can specify some parameters in the settings (such as whether the sections should remain in the clip index after being merged or should be removed).
